This week’s Veteran is Matthew Warren, who served in the U.S. Army from 1988 – 2015. Matthew and his wife were recently at the Young Texas Artists Finals competition at the Crighton Theatre in Conroe. Warren was in the Army Quartermaster Corp, essentially a logistician, making sure that the Army was properly supplied at all times, and making sure the supplies got to where they were needed. He spent 27 years in the service, many of which were at Fort Hood, Texas, with nine years in Germany on three separate tours at Dexheim, Baumholder, and Friedberg, Germany. He met his wife at Friedberg, which is just north of Frankfurt. Warren was deployed to Bosnia and Macedonia in support of peace missions there, and he spent two tours in Iraq. Originally from New Jersey, Matthew settled in Montgomery County, since his parents live in the area. He volunteers with the USO lounge at Bush Intercontinental, and other Veteran groups. Good Luck Matthew, and Congratulations on being MCNs ‘Veteran of the Week’.
