The Lake Conroe Area Republican Women (LCARW) held their monthly general meeting on April 17 at 12:02 PM, presided over by President Molly Adame.

The session opened with an invocation led by Linda Porten, followed by the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags, led by Brandon Steinmann.
Brandie Gonzalez welcomed attendees and introduced local elected officials and candidates, setting the tone for an informative and community-focused meeting. Minutes from the previous meeting and the treasurer’s report were approved without amendments.

Membership and Fundraising Highlights

Michelle Martin, Vice President of Membership, introduced new members and reported that LCARW currently boasts 170 primary members, with a goal of reaching 215 by year’s end. Linda Mock, Vice President of Ways and Means, announced details for the “Stars, Stripes, and Sombrero” fundraising gala at the Lone Star Community Center noting that the event supports key initiatives throughout the year.

Spotlight on Candidates and Law Enforcement Leaders

Program Chair Sharyn Link moderated a presentation featuring candidates running for the Montgomery Independent School District Board of Trustees, Position 6 and Position 7. 

Constable Philip Cash of Montgomery County Precinct 1 offered a briefing on his department’s current priorities, emphasizing mental health as a major focus. He discussed proactive strategies being used to address related community concerns.

Following Constable Cash, Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle addressed attendees, highlighting the progress made since he took office in January. Sheriff Doolittle noted that the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is now the seventh largest in Texas. His presentation covered improvements in 911 response times, ongoing transparency initiatives, updates on jail operations, and a warning about current scams in the area. Looking ahead, Doolittle shared plans to launch a Cyber Crimes Unit, push for anti-scam legislation, bolster recruitment, and fully staff the Real Time Crime Center in Conroe.
