The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said its homicide and violent crimes unit is investigating the case alongside federal railroad authorities.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train near Magnolia, Texas, Sunday morning, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

This happened along FM 1774 near Hazy Hollow Lane. The sheriff’s office first posted about the incident on Facebook at 9:18 a.m.

MCSO said its homicide and violent crimes unit is investigating the case alongside federal railroad authorities.

Traffic will be impacted while an investigation is underway at the scene. MCSO said Misty Meadows Drive and North Cripple Creek will be closed at FM 1774.

“Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” MCSO said.
