Halloween is Here! Next Stop- Veterans Day!

Last weekend for “Dracula” at the Crighton Theatre and “Steel Magnolias” at the Owen Theatre. Friday and Saturday the performances begin at 7:30pm, and they both end on Sunday, Nov. 5th with a 2pm matinee. Tickets available: at OwenTheare.com or CrightonTheare.org for their respective shows. 

After the show ends, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the theatre at a gala event at Madera Estates on November 7 to raise money for the preservation of the Crown Jewel of Montgomery County. The event, “Take a Seat for the Crighton,” is raising money to replace the seating in the theatre. Their current seats were installed in 1978 when the theatre was initially renovated. The Texas Custom Knife Show is Saturday, Nov 9 through Sunday, Nov 10 at the Lone Star Pavilion at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds featuring Forged in Fire Contestants and Champions, a Live Forging Contest, Tomahawk Throwing, and a Live Blade Sports Chop Contest. Veterans Day events in Conroe. 

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park will host their Dedication of The Line, swearing in of new recruits to the Unites States Army, at 9:00am Nov. 11 at the park at 1776 Freedom Blvd in Conroe. 

The Mighty Oaks Foundation’s 22 for 22 shines a light on Veteran Suicide with a festival at Heritage Park starting at 8:00am. Every day, an estimated 22 Veterans commit suicide, underscoring the dire need for intervention and support for those battling Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). The 22 for 22 Challenge involves a series of 22 marathons completed over 22 days by Jeremy Stalnecker. 

The 2nd Annual Mighty Oaks Veterans Day Run 5K or 10K is on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Heritage Park starting at 8:15am. The goal is to raise awareness about the Veteran Suicide epidemic and the Mighty Oaks Foundation. Sign up at https://bit.ly/3Um2cnr
