Over at the Owen Theatre, The Player’s Theatre Company presents “Steel Magnolias” a film favorite is set in Truvy’s small-town Louisiana beauty salon where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done and where wisecracks and advice are dispensed as freely as shampoo. Steel Magnolias tells the story of a group of gossipy Southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor where they share their lives and loves. The performance is deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness of the characters. The sudden realization of their mortality draws on the underlying strength and love that the characters share through good times and bad. Get tickets at OwenTheatre.com
