Isaac Conroe is the founder of our city!
Join the Isaac Conroe Founder’s Day Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 4 pm to see who is awarded Conroe Citizen of the Year. In 2022 Larry Forestier received the award for all he does in our county to maintain historical sites, and in 2023 Susie Pokarski, Executive Director of the Young Texas Artists Music Competition received the honor. February is the birth month of our founder of Conroe, Isaac Conroe, and it seemed more fitting to celebrate his birth as opposed to his death on Aug. 2, 1897.
Award-winning singer songwriter Peyton Riley will be singing the National Anthem after the presentation of the flags by Major General Patrick Cleburne’s 7th Texas Infantry Camp with a cannon fired at the close with a black musket by the Rolling Thunder Cannon. Local, state, and federal elected officials will be on hand to share the celebration of Isaac Conroe, born 187 years earlier.
“Big the Musical” will be performed live at the Crighton Theatre Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Feb. 23 with an amazing cast of experienced actors. This is a fun show for the entire family. Get tickets at CrightonTheatre.org. Do not Miss this!
