“Shakespeare in Love” is now performing at the Crighton Theatre through Sunday, April 20. The story is about a young Will Shakespeare struggling with writer’s block as approaches the deadline for his next play. But when he meets the brilliant, fearless, and beautiful Viola, everything changes. Viola, a passionate lover of the theater, is determined to perform on stage—even if it means breaking the law.
Next up are the auditions for “The Wedding Singer” on Sunday, April 13 at 5:30pm with invited callbacks on Monday, April 14 at 6:30pm. All auditions at the Crighton Theatre. For a Vocal Audition, please choose your own song in the same style as the show and range of the character you’re auditioning for. Choreography will be taught at auditions. Over at the Owen Theatre, auditions for Noel Coward’s “Private Lives” will be April 13-14 at the Owen Theatre. The audition packet is available at https://www.playerstheatrecompany.com/copy-of-auditions-1.
The First Thursday Concert Series begins Thursday, April 10 through Thursday, Sept 4th with free concerts at Heritage Place Park with on-site food trucks, food/beverages permitted, and all concerts begin at 7:00pm. The 6-month series will kick off with the music of Journey by the tribute band Escape-all provided at no charge by the City of Conroe.
The City of Conroe will again host the Annual Kidzfest on the streets of downtown Conroe with free admission and fun activities in several “villages” to do hands on learning experiences from 10am-4pm on Saturday, April 26.
