Love Heals Youth is hosting the 2nd Annual Concert for Love on Nov. 3, at The Table at Madeley bringing the community together for a night of music, inspiration, and support for foster youth, all while raising awareness for the Sound of Hope Act, a vital movement for systemic reform within the foster care system helping every child have a home within the faith based institutions. The concert starts at 2pm and admission is free. 

Family Promise is raising funds for homeless families with children at their Annual Fish Fry on Saturday, Nov 9, at the North Montgomery County Community Center in Willis from noon-3:00pm. Get a Fish dinner with two sides for $12, stay for the live auction and place a bet on silent auction items. familypromiseofmc.org

Veterans Day events in Conroe

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park will host their Dedication of The Line, swearing in of new recruits to the Unites States Army, at 9:00am Monday, Nov. 11 at the park at 1776 Freedom Blvd in Conroe. 

The Mighty Oaks Foundation’s 22 for 22 shines a light on Veteran Suicide with a festival at Heritage Park starting at 8:00am. Every day, an estimated 22 Veterans commit suicide, underscoring the dire need for intervention and support for those battling Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). The 22 for 22 Challenge involves a series of 22 marathons completed over 22 days by Jeremy Stalnecker. 

The 2nd Annual Mighty Oaks Veterans Day Run 5K or 10K is on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Heritage Park starting at 8:15am. The goal is to raise awareness about the Veteran Suicide epidemic and the Mighty Oaks Foundation. Sign up at https://bit.ly/3Um2cnr.
