How have you engaged with our community of businesses and nonprofit organizations lately?
You can learn about some of our local businesses as you walk through the Annual Kidzfest on the streets of downtown Conroe 10am-4pm on Saturday, April 26. It is free admission and fun activities in several “villages” to do hands on learning experiences. Many nonprofits will have a booth set up with interactive activities. Our local businesses downtown will also appreciate the added exposure to their businesses also.
Did you know The Assistance League is celebrating 40 years of serving our community with Assault Survivor Kits, scholarships for high school students, clothing vouchers for homeless children, disabled adults, abused children, and elderly nursing home residents? They also provide fans for vulnerable populations in the summer and special handcrafted dolls for agencies in Montgomery County to use as an aid for comforting children, senior adults and those working with Alzheimer’s support groups. Their entire staff to sort donations, run their store and go out in the community with outreach is volunteer driven. Learn how you can get involved by dropping by their location at 126 San Jacinto Street or going online at www.assistanceleague.org/montgomery-county/.
