In about two weeks, the streets of Montgomery County will be filled with ghouls and goblins in search of candy from their neighbors. While they will not have to travel far, some events will draw crowds with costume contests, games, and of course, candy.Â
Here are several events planned around the county between the weekends of Oct. 20 to Oct. 27:
Trunk or Treat eventsÂ
Several county areas will be hosting “Trunk or Treat” events, where people decorate their vehicles and give out candy outside of their trunk.Â
For example, First Methodist Conroe is hosting a “Trunk or Treat” event on Oct. 28. The church off of Texas 105 will have a contest for the best decorative trunk, hot dogs, face-painting, balloon artists and other games, according to the church’s website. The YMCA at Branch Crossing in The Woodlands is also hosting a similar event called “Halloween at the Y” on Oct. 27. The event, off Woodlands Parkway, will include games, music, a glow party and “trunk ‘n treat shops.” For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.Â
Other businesses, neighborhoods and school districts around the county will be hosting similar events.Â
EMCID’s Tricks & Treats Fall Fair
The East Montgomery County Improvement District is hosting its annual “Trick & Treats Fall Fair” on Oct. 21, where there will be games, pumpkins and holiday gifts, according to a release by the district. The event will be on Market Place Drive in New Caney, near Goody Goody Liquor Store and Hobby Lobby.Â
The event is free and will include more than 40 local vendors and businesses, activities such as dunk tank, a costume contest, a pie eating contest, inflatable axe throwing and a magic show, the release states.Â

Halloween at Margaritaville Lake Resort
Margaritaville Lake Resort in Montgomery will host Halloween events for both children and adults on Oct. 28. Families and children will be able to trick or treat around the resort, while participating in games and activities such as candy corn bingo, pumpkin painting, a costume contest and spooky movie night, according to the resort’s website.
 Adults will be able to do karaoke, enter a costume contest, participate in a pub crawl and attend a dance party, the website states.

Sugar Free Trick-or-Treat Trail
Magnolia Meadows will host its 2nd annual Sugar Free Trick-or-Treat Trail on Oct. 31, designed for with diabetic children in mind, according to the organization’s Facebook events post.Â
The event, off Dobbin Huffsmith Road in Magnolia, will have sugar-free and zero sugar candy, as well as an inflatable maze, a bounce house, games, promotional booths and snacks, the post states.
