Magnolia residents may soon access driver’s license services locally as a new resolution proposes a Mega Center.
MAGNOLIA, Texas — Residents of the Magnolia area could soon have an easier time accessing driver’s license services, thanks to a new resolution filed during the Texas special legislative session.
House Concurrent Resolution 2, introduced by state Rep. Cecil Bell Jr. (R-Montgomery), calls on the Texas Department of Public Safety to consider opening a Driver License Mega Center in Magnolia. Currently, residents in the Magnolia area must travel to Conroe or Houston to receive driver’s license services.
The resolution highlights the need for a local facility, stating that “the region would greatly benefit from the establishment of a local Driver License Mega Center.”
If approved, the resolution would direct the Texas Department of Public Safety to formally consider Magnolia as the site of a new Mega Center. An official copy of the resolution would also be forwarded to the department by the Texas Secretary of State.
