Four of the priciest homes in Harris County are in River Oaks and the Memorial Villages, and a fifth is located in The Woodlands in Montgomery County.
HOUSTON — The Houston area is home to half of the 10 most expensive homes sold in the Lone Star State this month, according to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR).
Highland Park in Dallas had the priciest home on the list, a 13,636-square-foot beauty with a whopping $34.5M price tag.
A five-bedroom, 10-bath, Mediterranean-style home in Houston was a distant second with a $20M price tag. The 12,228-square-foot home is located on West Friar Tuck Lane in the prestigious Sherwood Forest neighborhood of the Memorial Villages. Just minutes from Memorial Park and Uptown shopping and restaurants, the estate sits on 1.7 wooded acres with a resort-style pool and multiple patios perfect for outdoor gatherings. See 50 photos.
Two homes in River Oaks, listed at $15.9 million and $14.9 million, also made the top 10 list at No. 3 and No. 6.
The Carlton Woods subdivision in The Woodlands is home to the 8th most expensive home sold statewide with a price tag of $13.6 million.Â

New listings and listing withdrawals up dramatically
Between June 17 and June 23, there were 4,246 new listings on the MLS, according to HAR. That’s up 21.1% from 3,507 a year earlier, the Houston Business Journal reported.
At the same time, pending listings declined 3.1% year-over-year, from 2,304 in 2024 to 2,233 in 2025. Closings also increased 3.5% year-over-year to 1,783. Listings withdrawn from the MLS jumped 21.1% year over year to 3,507.
According to HAR’s monthly report, single-family home sales in the Houston area jumped 6.8% year over year to 9,058 in May — the largest such increase of 2025 so far. Sales of luxury homes, those priced at $1 million or more, increased 6.3% year-over-year.
The average single-family home price was $438,230, down 0.7% from April 2024, and the median price was $339,425, down 1.2%.
