An ExxonMobil executive is facing a felony charge of sexual assault after being arrested Oct. 5 at a Magnolia area hotel.

David Scott, 49, of The Woodlands, is out of jail on $30,000 bond at the Montgomery County Jail.  

According to information from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a LaQuinta Inn located in the 6900 block of FM 1488. Once on scene, deputies spoke to a woman who said she was sexually assaulted by a man in one of the hotel rooms at the location.

Detectives spoke with Scott on the scene and arrested him.

MCSO declined to provide any further details. Attempts to reach Scott on Monday went unanswered, and information on any representation for Scott was not available. 

According to Scott’s LinkedIn profile, he is the senior vice president for ExxonMobil’s Upstream-Unconventional division. He has been with the company for 26 years.

Officials with ExxonMobil released the following statement related to Scott’s arrest.

“All ExxonMobil employees, officers, and directors are accountable for observing the highest standards of integrity and code of conduct in support of the Company’s business and otherwise. We are aware of the allegations and cannot comment on a personal matter; however, we can say that this individual will not continue work responsibilities as the investigation proceeds.”
