Sandee June delivers her newest country hit with her signature rich tone and unwavering conviction. Fans and country radio are loving “Whiskey Us Away,” which is quickly climbing all major Texas charts.

“Whiskey Us Away” is about the struggles of a relationship when addiction is involved. It paints the picture of how the nondrinker feels when crying out for love and attention. Kris Rogge Fisher of Cypress, Texas, wrote the song; and the first time June heard it, she knew she had to record it.

“I believe every family in the world has ‘junk’ in their closets, and this song really hit home for me. I haven’t experienced it personally, but I’ve seen it in my family,” said June. “Anytime I have a chance to sing something that speaks to the hearts of others who are experiencing something, I will choose that.”

She released “Whiskey Us Away” this summer, and it is on its way to becoming a Top 40 Texas country single – proof it’s resonating with radio stations and fans across the state and beyond.

“I hope listeners let the lyrics sink in and think twice before giving up, especially when there are children involved. There are so many broken homes, and it seems that today people so easily give up and throw in the towel,” she added.

Sandee June has released five songs to radio since deciding to chase her dream of a music career in 2020. The lifelong Santa Fe, Texas, resident has been compared to some of the great classic country singers like Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn and is known for putting her own twist on traditional country music.

Independent country artist Sandee June has a way of drawing you in with her rich, soothing tone and instantly connecting you with the lyrics of a song. She’s a singer, songwriter and lifelong Texan who grew up listening to her parents’ music – Michael Martin Murphey, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, and Elton John.

She admits she has classic rock in her soul, but when she sings, it always “comes out country.” Maybe that’s because time spent with her grandparents always included listening to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn – two of her all-time music heroes. There’s no doubt you can hear the influences of these two country music icons every time Sandee June steps up to a microphone.

She released her first single, “Somewhere Between Hell and a Honky Tonk,” in 2020. To date she has released five songs, all of which have charted on all major Texas country music charts.

Her new single, “Whiskey Us Away,” is now playing on radios across Texas and available wherever you stream music.
