Indie Films Studios is excited to introduce an extraordinary opportunity for actors looking to refine their craft in a film environment: the Indie Films Studios 2025 Summer Acting Workshop.
Designed for both actors working in the industry as well as high school and college theatrical students, this immersive experience welcomes participants of all ages — from 16 to 96 — providing valuable training for aspiring performers and seasoned professionals alike.
This summer, Indie Films Studios will be using the screenplay from its newest film, Dreaming of Tokyo, currently in pre-production. Students will have the opportunity to read for roles from the screenplay and receive personalized coaching from both the film’s director, Gary Parker, and the screenwriter, Bruce May, who crafted the story. This hands-on experience offers an authentic glimpse into the filmmaking process, allowing actors to refine their performances while working directly with the creative minds behind the production.
This workshop is part of Indie Films Studios’ Director’s Actors Program, which develops actors looking to accelerate their careers in independent film or break into the industry. It’s ideal for those with some experience in independent film who are seeking more acting opportunities, as well as those who have worked on major films and television projects and want to refine their on-camera performance techniques.
Beyond acting technique, participants will gain practical knowledge on mastering auditions, working with different types of directors, and understanding best practices on a film set.
There is an exclusive bonus for theatre directors and assistant directors. Theatre educators who bring two or more students can participate for free, offering them a firsthand experience of film production alongside their students.
