Yeehaw! The Conroe Noon Lions Club is gearing up to bring ‘True Grit’ to our Club Concession Stand April 4-10. As many of you do not know, the Conroe Noon Lions Club operates the concession stand at the Montgomery County Fair to raise money for our service projects within the community. We have plenty of options for everyone from Frito Pies, Corn Dogs, Popcorn, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and even Chicken Tenders!

The Conroe Noon Lions Club-Buyers Group also participates in the Non-Livestock, Sunshine Day, and Livestock auctions to help support the youth of Montgomery County.  Even though the Fair is our main focus as a club on the near horizon, we still have multiple opportunities to serve before then.
Lions will be listening to some outstanding students as they provide their speeches on global causes of Lionism at the Pete Brasher Memorial Speech Contest.  This contest was held at Conroe High School last Wednesday.

An additional service opportunity was held at our Eyeglass Recycling Center in Conroe on Saturday from 9-12.  If you have any used eyeglasses whether prescription, reading, or sunglasses our club will gladly accept them for future use on mission trips all over the world. Believe it or not there are many times we cannot fill the requested order due to lack of supply so please donate so others can see clearly.  As the competition has been fierce in the Spring Membership Drive, the ladies are currently ahead in the “Lions on the Hunt” scavenger hunt!  Only a few hours remain to hunt down the final items as the competition will close at midnight March 31th. Bragging Rights will then commence to the winners, but make sure to keep your cool in the Concession Stand around your fellow Lions as we do not want any food fights! Lastly, the club did present the nominating officers and positions for 2025-2026 Lions Year and voting will take place on April 23rd for active members in good standing.

Calling all 12-18 year olds! The Conroe Leo Club has been very active over the past few weeks from hosting the District Forum to work at the Montgomery County Food Bank.  The Leos also assisted the Community Assistance Center this past Saturday for a workday.  The club is actively looking currently for more Junior High members in order to grow the club for the future.  Posters have been placed at some of the local middle schools in the area so keep an eye out!  They will be hosting an induction ceremony on Monday March 31st at 5:30 at the Conroe Lake Conroe Chamber. The Leo Club meets every 2nd and 4th Monday at 5:30 at the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber (next meetings April 14th).

The quote of the week from Andrew Perry for the club was “Treat everyone you encounter as if they are fighting a bigger battle than yourself”.  As Lions, we serve with compassion, understanding that many in our communities face unseen struggles. Whether we’re providing eyeglasses to those in need, supporting youth programs, or volunteering at the fair, our mission is to make life a little easier for those who need a helping hand. Our goal as a club is to continue to lead with kindness and service, making a difference one act at a time.
