The Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe, an all-suite resort, features 335 guest suites; including 32 lakefront cottages, on 186 lakefront acres on Lake Conroe. It opened in June 2020.Â
Diane Heppel, director of Human Resources at Margaritaville, said the Lake Conroe resort employs roughly 250.Â
In addition to seasonal positions, she said they are always looking to fill housekeeping and kitchen-staff positions.Â
“Even prior to the pandemic, the hospitality industry had already started seeing difficulty in recruiting for the culinary and housekeeping side of the world,” she said. “It’s been a challenge for many years. We constantly look for great people in that regard.”Â

Heppel said they feel strongly about moving internal employees up when possible.Â

She started with the company as a catering sales manager.Â
She said all employees have the benefit of using discounts at other Margaritaville properties.Â
Margaritaville Lake Resort is a property of Pyramid Global Hospitality that was formed by the 2021 merger of two hotel and resort management companies. The organization’s global portfolio spans more than 240 properties in the U.S., Caribbean and Europe.Â
Recently it was announced that a new Margaritaville resort will be coming to Galveston. A South Padre location opened in June 2023.Â
Heppel said if a prospective employee is unable to make any of the three February dates, the human resources staff can meet with them at the resort at another time.Â
“They’re welcome to come by the property. We’re always welcome to show it off and let them see the environment,” she said.Â
