CONROE, TX – The Conroe Art League today announced that submissions are now being accepted for its annual Fall Judged Show. The application deadline is September 7.
This year’s judge is Susan Sheets, an accomplished Texas artist and educator with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston and a Master of Art Education from Sam Houston State University. Her dedication to the arts has been recognized through numerous exhibitions and honors, including selection for the prestigious Jentel Artist Residency in Wyoming in 2003.
Sheets’ work has been featured in venues such as the American Academy of Equine Art in Kentucky, the Butler Longhorn Museum in League City, and exhibitions at Philmont in Cimarron, New Mexico. She was also published in Ex Arte Equines III: International Equine Art Competition 2010.
Known for her expertise in portraying Texas landscapes and wildlife, Susan brings a deep knowledge of her subjects to both her art and her teaching.
Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as 1st Honorable Mention and “Best Of” qualify for submission to the LSAG Annual Show. “Best Ofs” are also given cash awards. Amounts are determined by the total number of entries. The LSAG Annual Show is a peer-sanctioned, judged exhibition that connects multiple leagues through competition and learning, while supporting artists at all levels – elementary students to professionals.
Awards will be announced on October 11, 2025 at the CAL General Meeting.
