Children’s Safe Harbor’s to host 2nd annual Sporting Clay Tournament

on February 28 at Blackwood Sporting in Conroe.

Conroe, TX (January 20, 2025) Take your best shot against child
abuse! Join Children’s Safe Harbor as they host their second annual Sporting
Clay Tournament fundraising event on Friday, February 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at
Blackwood Sporting in Conroe, TX, at 11400 FM 2854.

Children’s
Safe Harbor’s
mission is
to achieve justice, healing, and hope for every child victim of severe physical
abuse, sexual assault, child sex trafficking, neglect, and trauma, and to
engage the community in that mission. As a nationally accredited nonprofit
children’s advocacy organization, Children’s Safe Harbor is the only
organization of its kind in our community that coordinates with local law
enforcement, children’s protective services, and medical and behavioral health
care systems to provide effective, efficient, child-centered investigations and
healing services.

“We look forward to hosting our second
annual tournament, which is expected to outpace the success of last year’s inaugural
event, which had an incredible turnout by participants and sponsors,” said
Robert Austria, event co-chair and board member of Children’s Safe Harbor, and
Regional Manager of Woodforest National Bank.

Donna Hansen, JD, event co-chair and
board member of Children’s Safe Harbor, and Felony Division Chief of the
Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, added, “Our sporting clay
tournament is not only a fun and great team-building experience, it is also an
important fundraiser for our community as proceeds will benefit abused and
traumatized children.”

The tournament will feature 72 birds,
3 boxes of shells, lunch, dinner, and drinks, and an enticing silent auction.
Teams of four are $500 and individual tickets are $125.
