The Canadian country music trio The Heels are making several stops in Texas this month and will sing the National Anthem at “Girls Night Out” at the Astros game on April 19.
The Heels is an all-female band composed of members Bobbi Smith, Brittni Dominelli and Kyla Rawlins. The trio is now based in Nashville.
Upcoming Texas shows are at Twisted Sisters Patio Bar in Waco April 17, Lucy Blues a new venue in Conroe April 18, at Daikin Park at 6 p.m April 19, at Wildcatters Saloon in Katy April 19 at 8 p.m. and at CoffeeTrend at 11 a.m. April 20.
“Their journey began humbly in a North Vancouver café where they met, each with solo careers behind them, the women found a common desire: to heal through music,” according to their biography. “Inspired by iconic female acts, they quickly got to work crafting powerful, arena-ready anthems. Since then, their music has amassed over three million streams and counting.”
The bands’ debut album “Love, Heels” debuted on the iTunes Top 100 Country Music Album chart. Their sophomore album “I Am” has received worldwide acclaim. The Heels most recent follow-up EP “Work Of Heart” is making waves on major international radio networks, according to the band’s bio.
They have been the opening act for artists including Lonestar, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley and Lee Brice and have performed at Canadian Music Week.
They’ll perform at CMA Fest in June in Nashville.
The trio will also perform in new venue Lucy Blues in downtown Conroe.
Debbie Glenn-Cross, who owns 13-year-old The Red Brick Tavern in downtown Conroe, teamed up with her sister, Lisa Wong, to open blues bar Lucy Blues in the spot of the former Tuts bar at 711 Madeley Street in downtown Conroe.
Lucy Blues opened in early March and is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. pairing soulful sounds with the latest sports action on multiple big screen TVs. The spot has patio seating and an outdoor bar with large TVs is in the works.
