The country’s second location of BRKTHROUGH, a challenge room and social-entertainment experience, has opened in suburban Houston.
A location in Shenandoah north of The Woodlands opened this month at 8885 Metropark Drive, in the city’s restaurant and entertainment complex.
“We have been working hard since announcing the Shenandoah location to get the space fully ready to be unveiled to the north Houston area, as well as to the entire City of Houston and to visitors alike,” BRKTHROUGH founder Braden Holcomb said in a release about the opening. “It has been a thrill to see the first patrons who have come through the door during our first weekend in operation immerse themselves in the multiple aspects that make BRKTHROUGH such a unique and fun experience.”

What is BRKTHROUGH?
The concept launched in December 2022 in Overland Park, Kan. Shenandoah is the second location and a third is coming soon to Cincinnati.
The 20,000-square-foot BRKTHROUGH Shenandoah offers more than 35 challenge rooms that are designed to ignite a competitive spirit in an environment that promotes a social experience, the company said.
The games are meant for two to four players who race from room to room scoring points by doing quizzes and physical tasks. The points are tracked in real time via RFID wristbands and scores are displayed on a leaderboard, according to the company’s news release.
Shenandoah features
The Shenandoah facility includes the Jungle with wild terrain, PrisonBRK that challenges participants to break free before time runs out, Copy Cat that tests memory skills and Footloose, a dance challenge.
Those working up an appetite or thirst can refuel in a dedicated food hall. The location also has an outdoor patio and private event space.
Highlights of the menu include flatbread pizzas, wings, burgers and nachos. A tap wall will have a mix of local craft beers, ciders and seltzers, as well as a few margaritas and non-alcoholic beverages.

What to know
A two-hour session costs $29.99 to $32.99 and three hours cost $39.99 to $42.99. According to company information, the experience is designed with adults in mind, but those under 18 are welcome. Guests ages 11 to 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
