60th annual Go Texan Parade nears
“Diamond in the Heart of Texas” theme captures spirit of event
Conroe businesses and local organizations will soon be gearing up for the 60th annual Go Texan Parade to be held on Saturday, February 22, beginning at 1 p.m. in downtown Conroe. This year’s theme is “Diamond in the Heart of Texas.”
The parade is one of the primary kickoff events for the 93rd Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (to be held from March 4-23) and will feature marching and walking units, horses and floats.
Floats will be judged on creativity, use of theme, display of community spirit and Texas culture, craftsmanship, overall appearance and participant interaction. The procession begins at the intersection of Metcalf and North Frazier St. Enthusiastic parade spectators can line the streets and sidewalks to be involved in one of the area’s most popular celebrations!

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Conroe’s Go Texan Parade, which has become a mainstay pre-event to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
Registration for general parade entries is $50, free for non-profit organizations and youth entries, and $100 for political entries.

The parade is presented by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeoâ„¢ Houston Metro Go Texan Committee Conroe/Willis/The Woodlands Subcommittee and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce.
