A crash of two 18-wheelers at FM 1314 and Exxon Road Monday has left one dead southeast of Conroe, authorities say.
Around 4:10 a.m. Monday, a 2021 Freightliner semitractor-trailer traveling south on FM 1314, when it started to drift in the northbound lane and collided with a 2020 Mack semitractor-trailer traveling north, according to a release by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the Mack truck, Houston resident Vincente Pena, 71, was pronounced dead on scene by first-responders with the Montgomery County Hospital District, the release states.
The driver of the Freightliner was taken to the HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe in serious condition.Â
No other information was provided and DPS is investigating the crash.Â
