Houston, Texas — a city as hard to define as it is to ignore. Rich in culture, diversity, and grit. So why wouldn’t a Houston-based metal guitarist and a honky tonk fiddle player team up to create something entirely new?
Sloan and Sonnier – why not?
Leslie Sloan started playing fiddle at age 5, shaped by classical and bluegrass roots. As “Miss Leslie,” she’s released five traditional honky tonk albums and is currently recording a new release for 2025.
Dane Sonnier, originally from southern Louisiana, moved to Houston at 19 to join the progressive metal band Galactic Cowboys. He later formed The Sonnier Brothers Band, and rejoined Galactic Cowboys in 2017 for their reunion. A new album is also on the way in 2025.
Together, Sloan and Sonnier describe their collaboration as blues rock—but genre isn’t the point.
“This is in its infancy and growing every day,” says Sloan.
“We’re not limiting this. We’ll see what happens.”
Don’t miss this genre-blending debut of two seasoned artists crafting something new and unexpected.
