“These are chefs who have impressed us by their stellar performance in the kitchen. These are the chefs that we are going to mentor. For the grand finale there will be four of these chefs with four of these judges as their sous chefs battling it out,” said Chauhan in a video discussing the episode. “This is so exciting and so crazy. This has never ever happened before. The stakes are so high and all of our judges reputations are on the line.”Â
Amrina plans watch party
Amrina, at 3 Waterway Square Place, Suite 100, The Woodlands is hosting a watch party for the episode. Reservations for the watch party may be made through OpenTable. The restaurant will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. for happy hour. Dinner service is from 5 to 9 p.m.Â
Before crafting the Amrina concept alongside co-owners and brothers Surpreet and Preet Paul Singh in 2022, Bindra spent several years at the Michelin Guide-featured Northern Indian restaurant Punjab Grill in Washington, D.C.
Throughout his “Chopped” episode, Bindra emphasized his commitment to win for his parents, who supported his decision to become a chef and eventually move from India to the U.S. to continue his career.
The final, 30-minute dessert round of his episode saw Bindra face off against James Beard semifinalist Rachel McGill. Bindra stayed true to his roots and whipped up a creamy fortune cookie rabri with a gooseberry-candied blue hubbard squash brulee and emerged the winner.Â
Woodlands charity could benefit
In the Tuesday episode, the four chefs will cook with Nashville flavoring, feature an Indian dessert and a frozen cocktail. The winner gets to compete with Maneet as their sous chef in the tournament’s grand finale, with $25,000 cash and $25,000 for charity at stake.
Should Bindra win the challenge, Interfaith of The Woodlands is the benefiting charity. Interfaith of The Woodlands is a nonprofit social service agency providing family, child, work and senior programs and services the surrounding area.
