Popular burger joint Burger Fresh & More Conroe is branching out with a second location in Humble.
The roughly 2,300-square-foot space will be at 12235 Will Clayton Parkway, Suite No. 1, in a newly constructed retail center.
“We’re excited to establish a flagship location in this thriving area and to start serving old-fashioned burgers along with the myriad of menu items we now offer in Conroe. And of course we will have the full 16 flavors of Blue Bell for all to enjoy,” said James Canada, owner of Burger Fresh & More Conroe.

Aiming for a December opening in Humble
The new location is scheduled to open potentially in mid-December and the restaurant’s position at the end of the center will allow for a drive-thru, Canada said.
The Conroe staple was opened in 1997 by Jay Lehman who died in 2019. When Lehman retired, Scott Levantino bought it and six years ago Canada bought the establishment.
In 2009, Texas Monthly named Burger Fresh’s burger the No. 13 best burger in Texas.
The Texas Monthly award is Canada’s favorite thing on the menu and features mayo, mustard, a sourdough jalapeno bun, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, grilled onion and pepper, lettuce, tomato, and pickle.
Menu favorites will remain the same
Other menu favorites include an expansive breakfast menu, old-fashioned burgers, po boys, hot sandwiches, baskets, salads, hot dogs, loaded fries and shakes, cones, malts and sundaes with 16 flavors of Blue Bell ice cream.
Canada, a 1966 graduate of Conroe High School, grew up in Conroe and has been in the restaurant business since 1982.
When he bought Burger Fresh, he began to add memorabilia from the 1950s and 1960s. He also started using fresh meats and made upgrades to the menu items.
In spring 2023, the Conroe location doubled its size by moving into the space next door.
He said the menu will be almost identical to the Conroe location as will the 50s and 60s decor.
“We want you to walk in and know you are in a Burger Fresh,” he said.

Canada said he’s been looking to expand for some time but was looking for the right spot and the dense population of Humble, Atascocita and Kingwood area fit his vision.
“I think this area will be a great fit for another Burger Fresh,” he said. “I just want to bring the old-fashioned hamburger back everywhere I can.”
It is possible that the restaurant could expand into the space next door as well to allow for a party room.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Burger Fresh, a trusted name in Conroe since 1997. This location is a perfect fit for their expansion strategy, and we’re excited to see them continue to thrive and enhance the local dining scene,” said Oscar Martinez, MHW Real Estate associate who helped broker the space. “Their presence at this high-traffic location aligns perfectly with our goal to attract thriving businesses that contribute to the community’s growth and vibrancy.”
