The process to become Montgomery County Fair Queen
The application process begins in October. The candidates study public speaking in November, participate in the Magnolia Christmas Parade in December and are introduced to the public in January. In February, they build a float for the Conroe Go Texan Parade and participate in the parade.Â
On the day of the crowning, they have breakfast with the three judges who are from outside of Montgomery County where they conduct interviews with the judges. The candidates also have livestock and non-livestock entries showing at the fair. The fair queen is then crowned in the rodeo arena Saturday night.Â
The queen and court serve as ambassadors throughout the fair and represent the fair throughout the year until the next year’s event.Â
The 2024 Fair Queen was Faith Nichols from Willis High School. Other members of the 2024 queen’s court are first runner up Meridith Cox, a home school student; second runner up Riley Kerr from Montgomery High School and Miss Congeniality Vivian Ruiz from Grand Oaks High School.
