Man found under bridge near Kingwood may have died from exposure, Montgomery County police say

A man was found dead under a bridge near Kingwood, authorities say. 

Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Texas Department of Transportation workers discovered the man’s body under a bridge in the 25600 block of Interstate 69, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigations indicate the man may be homeless and succumbed to possible exposure, the release states. 

Heat alerts were in place this week across the Houston area as temperatures reached into the low 100s. Extreme heat is consistently the top weather-related killer in the U.S. annually, reports Houston Chronicle Newsroom Meteorologist Justin Ballard.

No other information about the man was provided. The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident. 

This is the second body the sheriff’s office has investigated within a 12-day period. The body of a 60-year-old man was found near Conroe on July 23.
