Lake Conroe Area Republican Women held a special, nighttime meeting in November at April Sound Country Club. Â President Brandie Lopez Gonzalez welcomed everyone and then introduced 221st District Court Judge Lisa Michalk who led us in prayer. Â Judge John Hafley with the help of Asako Matsushita, led us in the Pledge to the United States Flag and the Pledge to the Texas Flag. Â Mrs. Matsushita came to the United States from Japan 22 years ago. Â
She spent several years going through the system to become a naturalized citizen. Â Mrs. Matsushita and her husband recently moved to the Conroe area along with their two children. Â They are proud to be Republicans, and they exemplify the right way to enter the United States and contribute to society.
The treasurer’s report and minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved as presented followed by President Brandie introducing the elected officials in attendance.  Michelle Martin, VP of Membership, announced that LCARW is one of the top 3 (out of 165) clubs in Texas, having 206 members! Her LCARW membership goal for 2025 is 215! Â
President Brandie then explained that the idea for this evening’s program “Night Court” was born several years ago when she was VP of Programs and Julie Faubel was President.  Both of them are thrilled that tonight it finally came together!  Julie Faubel proceeded to introduce Lt. Jesse Fullen, Bailiff in Homeland Security.  Bailiff Fullen called the “court” into session and introduced the Presiding Judges – Judge Claudia Laird, Probate Court 1; Judge Amy Tucker, County Court of Law #3; Judge Kathleen Hamilton, District Court 359th; Judge Jennifer Robin, District Court 410th; Judge Kristin Bay, District Court 284th; Judge Lisa Michalk, District Court 221st and Counsel of Record, District Attorney Brett Ligon. It was an evening of funny stories and light-hearted entertainment as everyone had a great time, even the judges!  It was hard to stop laughing!Â
Next up, President Brandie introduced the 2025 Executive Board-Molly Adame, President; Sharyn Link, 1st VP Programs; Michelle Martin, 2nd VP Membership; Linda Mock, 3rd VP Ways & Means;  Kandice Cabets, Treasurer; Marliese Stripling, Recording Secretary and LeeAnn Seitsinger, Corresponding Secretary.  These hard-working ladies were then installed by Judge Kathleen Hamilton followed by the passing of the gavel from 2024 LCARW President Brandie Lopez Gonzalez to 2025 LCARW President Molly Adame who then called the meeting adjourned.
