A new study has named Hurricane Harbor Splashtown as the best-value water park among Six Flags destinations across the country.

A new statistical analysis has assigned a value score to every Six Flags theme park and water park in the country, considering factors such as ticket price, park size and crowd levels. Hurricane Harbor Splashtown ranked as the best-value water park, scoring 72.95 out of 100.

The water park in Spring features more than 18 attractions with a gate price of $59.99.

Conducted by QR Code Generator, the research evaluated various factors to determine the best-value Six Flags Park on a scale of 100. Criteria included ticket price, operating hours, number of attractions and shows, food and parking costs, park size, crowd levels and wait times for popular rides.

“Summertime transforms theme parks into bustling, overcrowded arenas. The allure of adrenaline-pumping rides clashes with the reality of lengthy queues and sky-high prices. While the promise of family fun remains enticing, navigating the season’s challenges can be tricky,” said Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator that conducted the study. “Careful planning is essential to ensure a truly magical day. Families can transform potential stress into unforgettable memories by comparing ticket prices, exploring different parks and considering crowd levels.”

The 48-acre park offers eight hours of water fun with 18 attractions. Visitors can enjoy relatively affordable options, with $20 parking, a $59.99 admission fee, and the cheapest cheeseburger meal among all water parks at $19.98.

According to information from Six Flags, the park originally opened in the early 1980s as Hanna-Barbera Land, the animation studio behind cartoon favorites like Yogi Bear, The Flintstones and The Jetsons.

Hanna-Barbera Land only lasted two seasons as a theme park. Then the rides were remove to make way for water slides and it was renamed Splashtown USA. The park has had several owners over the years, but the Splashtown name always remained.

Texas-based Six Flags acquired Wet ‘n’ Wild Splashtown from EPR Properties in May 2018. The rebranded and renovated park, formerly known as Wet ‘n’ Wild Splashtown reopened in May 2019 with a Caribbean-inspired theme, new entrance marquee, new lounge areas with cabanas, Wi-Fi and a new dining app.

Other best value water parks in the top five-list include Six Flags White Water in Georgia, Hurricane Harbor Phoenix in Arizona, Hurricane Harbor Rockford in Illinois and Hurricane Harbor Arlington in North Texas.

The water park closes for the summer season Sept. 8. It’s at 21300 Interstate 45 North in Spring.
