A new development and the expansion of several others are set to add more than 1,200 residential lots to the Conroe area.

The Conroe City Council in a 5-0 vote Thursday approved the annexation of 15 acres into Municipal Utility District No. 142 which will now spans more than 150 acres.

“They are adding 54 lots and after annexation, they will have a total of 608,” said Nancy Mikeska, assistant city administrator and director of community development.

Mikeska said the lots in the development will be 52 feet by 110 feet and the price of the homes will range between $450,000 and $500,000.

In a separate 4-1 vote, council approved the annexation of 19 acres into MUD No. 142 for Mackenzie Creek Section 4 developed by Camillo Properties on Loop 336. The action by the council will add 86 single-family lots for a total of 694.

Both developments will be served by the city and Conroe water and sewer utilities.

Councilman Harry Hardman was the lone nay vote. Hardman asked if the city had the water and sewer capacity for the added development.

Norm McGuire, assistant city administrator and director of Public Works, said the city is prepared for the new homes.

“The infrastructure is new and the capacity is there,” McGuire said. “I don’t see a problem with it.”

In other residential development, Pine Lake Cove is building Section 2 of the community that will ultimately bring 2,400 single-family lots to Conroe when complete. Section 2, according to information from the city of Conroe will include 140 lots.

Pine Lake Cove is off Texas 105 near McCaleb Road.
