One week before Thanksgiving!

The Heritage Museum of Montgomery County is hosting their Intimate Gathering Series, “Exploring Yuletide-Traditions, Folklore and Intriguing Origins of Christmas” by storyteller Leah Lamp on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1:00pm. The event is free, but please RSVP at (936) 539-6873 to secure your seat. 

Hunting Season is big in Texas. If you are interested in upgrading your firearms, The High Caliber Gun Show is all weekend Nov 23-24 at the Lone Star Convention Center. 

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County has confirmed dates at the Malcolm Purvis Library, 510 Melton, Magnolia, TX 77354 for two dates to assist families impacted by Hurricane Beryl in the zip codes of 77355, 77354, or 77362, or seniors in need of critical home repairs.

Anyone who qualifies under the above zip codes or is a senior in need of critical repairs may attend an application fair at Malcolm Purvis Library for free assistance from trained Habitat MCTX staff and volunteers. Holiday Happenings: 
Reserve your tickets now for the Holiday shows at both of our local live performance community theatres. “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will be at the Crighton Theatre weekends Friday, Nov 29 through Sunday, Dec. 15. Tickets are available at CrightonTheatre.org. 

The Players Theatre Company hosts “White Christmas” Friday, Dec 6 through Sunday, Dec. 22. Do not miss this Irving Berlin classic! Tickets: OwenTheatre.com

Bring family and friends to the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas on Main after Thanksgiving on Tuesday, Dec 3 through the streets of downtown Conroe. The Tree Lighting begins at 6:30pm at Heritage Place with Christmas on Main immediately following the lighting of the spectacular tree.

Visit the local merchants who will provide Christmas treats/refreshments, photo opportunities, cookie decorating, face-painting, and of course a visit with Santa at Mimi’s on Main. Be sure and get a ticket to be eligible for the drawing at 8:30pm at Founder’s Plaza for bikes and other prizes! Must be present to win. Both events are hosted FREE by the City of Conroe and the Conroe Downtown Area Merchants Association. 

Tickets for the drawing and tokens to vote for your favorite window display will be available at 4 Information booths:

•    San Jacinto/Metcalf
•    Thompson/Simonton
•    Main Street/Metcalf by Founder’s Plaza Park

Christmas on Main will commence at 6:30pm a until 9:30pm. Christmas carolers from the Montgomery County Choral Society will sing your favorite Christmas Carols on Simonton by Conroe Central Market and music will be performed from students from the Jazz Connection throughout the evening.
