What is happening this week in Conroe? 

Final week of 3-week run for “Rock of Ages” at the Owen Theatre hosted by The Players Theatre Company and “The Play That Goes Wrong” opening at the Crighton Theatre from Stage Right. The Assistance League will host an information “Tea and Tour” for interested new volunteers to learn about the organization at the Assistance League Thrift Shop at 126 N. San Jacinto St. in downtown Conroe on Sept. 18 at 1:00pm. Anyone with a heart for service can find a place at Assistance League! 

The final concert in the Thursday Free Concert Series has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 19. Shotgun Road (tribute to 80’s / 90’s country music) will begin at 7:00pm. Food trucks will be onsite, however both food and beverages may be brought in (no glass bottles). Contact the C.K. Register NOW for the 14th Annual Woodforest Charity Run. The race will be Sept 21 from Heritage Place Park. Since 2010, the Woodforest Bank Charity Run has served as a family-friendly event raising funds for the Woodforest Charitable Foundation. Many local nonprofits receive funds from this event and others. Last year 277 runners raised $87,000! 10K run starts at 7:40, 5K run at 8:00am, and the Barkley Shoe Dash for kids (5-7) and (8-12) starts at 9:00am. www.woodforest.com/About-Us/Woodforest-Charity-Run.

Join the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County at their Intimate Gathering Series on Saturday, Sept 28 at 1:00pm to hear Dr. Stephen Popp, Head of the John Cooper School, for a Conversation and the Electoral College. Free admission, but RSVPs are requested by calling (936) 539-6873.
