A driver is dead after he lost control of his vehicle during a high-speed chase with Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies in The Woodlands, authorities say. 

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Lake Robbins Drive, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrived and saw a man speeding away away from the scene, the release states. 

During the chase with deputies, the man lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed on the embankment of The Woodlands Parkway bridge. The man was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead.

More information about the incident and the man’s name was not released. The sheriff’s office is investigating.
