All boaters should keep this important phone number handy...just in case the unexpected happens! Keep in mind that the many fantastic waterfront marinas on the lake are here to assist you also.

Water Safety is always to be observed on Lake Conroe as many "personal watercraft" are occupying the waters along with the larger power boats. These jetski craft are small and hard to see. And with the many watersports associated with Lake Conroe, always be on the lookout for fallen waterskiers or swimmers. Boats and alcohol do not mix! Don't drink and dive a boat! Not only does alcohol consumption impair your abilities, but the Lake Patrol strictly enforces the Laws concerning alcohol and boating safety.

Water Skiing has always been one of the more popular activities for the younger crowd. With the multitude of "protected coves" on all sides of Lake Conroe, calm, smooth water surfaces can be found almost al times of the day. This is especially true of the un-bulkheaded shores of the Sam Houston National Forest on the north end of the lake...where the real pros can be found slaloming through their courses!

Wind Surfing and sailing are more active near the southern shores of Lake Conroe since the heavier winds prevail nearer the dam that contains the lake. The winds are usually heaviest in mid to late afternoon.
